Meeting Tasmania’s WSET students-Velo Wines

The wine industry in Tasmania is an exciting place to be at the moment. I am fortunate enough to meet some of these great people when they attend my WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) courses.

Over the next few weeks, I will be introducing some of the businesses who are committed to developing the industry by training their staff. You will also meet some of the students who have taken part in these courses, the first of their kind in Tasmania.

First up…. Vélo Wines Tasmania. Mary Wilson, owner, was on one of the first Level 3 courses run in the state. In 2015, she enlisted me to train some of her team, including her nephew Lochsley Wilson. Proud Tasmanians, after years abroad following Michae’s cycling career, they returned to the state. Most recently, Mary & Michael refurbished their cellar door and added the Barrel Room restaurant.

Situated a short 20 minutes outside of Launceston, Tasmania, have you visited this treasure on your doorstep?
